Davidson County Veteran Services Office Moves (END FEB 02)
The Davidson County Veteran Services Office is pleased to announce it will be moving to a new location at 220 East First Avenue Extension, Suite 2, in Lexington, North Carolina. The new office will officially open for appointments on MONDAY, FEBRUARY 2. There will be no changes to the office’s phone numbers or email addresses. GCS District 4 School Board – Meet The Candidate: Dr. Irish Spencer (END FEB 6)
The Charlotte Hawkins Brown Museum will host a Meet-The-Candidate event with Dr. Irish Spencer, running for Guilford County School Board District 4, on Friday, February 6th from 6pm until 10pm, at CHBM’s Kimball Hall, 6136 Burlington Road in Gibsonville. Entertainment and refreshments will be provided. Related elementary schools: Alamance, Bessemer, Brightwood, Gibsonville, McLeansville, Monticello-Brown Summit, Northern, and Reedy Ford. NC Folk Festival Art & Poster Design Contest (END FEB 13)
The North Carolina Folk Festival is now accepting entries for their 2026 Festival Art & Poster Design Contest. Open to all artists currently residing in North Carolina, submissions may be individual or collaborative. The selected artwork will serve as the official poster for this September, with the artist receiving a cash prize. The submission deadline is February 13. Davidson County Library Lover’s Month Replacement Cards (END FEB 14)
In honor of Library Lovers’ Month, Davidson County Public Library branches will be offering free replacement library cards Monday, February 9th – Saturday, Feb. 14th. If your library card is lost or damaged, you will be able to obtain a new card at no cost to you. If a lack of card has kept you away from the library, do not miss this chance to remedy that fact. Winston-Salem Forsyth County Lead Pipes Notifications (Disc. Feb 20)
As the nationwide effort continues to identify any lead water pipes remaining underground, some 3,300 Winston-Salem Forsyth County residents are receiving annual notifications required by the EPA. Customers can view sample letters, check the status of their property, follow the simple steps to identify their own service line, and submit their results for verification at cityofws.org/pipes.
Salem Band Winter Concert (END FEB 22)
Salem Band will perform its annual free Winter Concert on Sunday, February 22nd, at 3pm, in the Hanes Auditorium, at the Elberson Fine Arts Center, on the campus of Salem Academy and College. SEL Colfax Elementary School Career Fair (END FEB 27)
In celebration of Social Emotional Learning, Colfax Elementary will host its Career Fair for students at Colfax Elementary School on Friday, February 27, from 8-11:30am. GYC – Camille’s Closet and Theo’s Threads (END FEB 27)
The Greensboro Youth Council will be collecting clothing donations for its upcoming Camille’s Closet & Theo’s Threads – Formal Wear Drive through Friday, February 27. This program collects new and gently worn prom wear to be provided free of charge to middle and high school students who would otherwise be unable to afford them. 2027 Alamance County Tax Reappraisal (Disc. Feb 28)
As part of the 2027 Alamance County Tax Reappraisal, members of the Reappraisal Team can be identified by the County Seal/Contract Services magnet on their car, high-visibility vests, and Alamance County-issued identification badges. When Field Staff arrive, they will knock or ring the doorbell, and leave a blue door hanger if no one answers. Reappraisal Field Staff will not ask to enter any residential building, but may request to enter gated or fenced areas in order to complete their work. For more info, visit AlamanceCountyNC.gov.
LIAM YouthWatch & Guardian Project (Disc. Feb 28)
The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office is announcing an update to the Guardian Project – Vulnerable Population Registry, with the LIAM (Lifesaving Identification And Monitoring) YouthWatch. The Guardian Project is an initiative dedicated to protecting individuals with cognitive conditions who are at risk of life-threatening wandering, or someone who may have special needs that may affect communication or response in an emergency situation. Small Farms Week NC A&T (END MAR 26)
The Cooperative Extension at North Carolina A&T State University will host its 40th annual Small Farms Week March 22-26, with the theme “Deep Roots, Strong Future: 40 Years of Small Farm Impact.” Events will include workshops, hands-on demonstrations, and the naming of the 2026 Small Farmers of the Year, with an emphasis on the crucial role of small-scale producers and their impact on communities. W.E.L.L. Women Saturday Socials (END Disc. Apr 14)

Aggies at the Goal Line
The Aggies at the Goal Line program has been helping former North Carolina A&T State University students of all ages complete their degrees. If you never finished your degree, and it’s been at least 2 years since you last attended A&T, contact Aggies at the Goal Line via AGL@ncat.edu. Take Me Home
The Greensboro Police Department will be participating in the “Take Me Home” program. “Take Me Home” is a free program that allows family members and legal guardians to upload critical information for individuals with a cognitive impairment or developmental disability in the event that a registered individual encounters law enforcement or is reported missing. TRIAD Goodwill Accepts Food Donations
A lot of people don’t know this, but Triad Goodwill accepts food donations and routes them to local food banks. Non-perishable food items are collected in all 23 Donation Centers located in Guilford, Alamance, Randolph, Rockingham and Caswell counties.
